How Can severe Fever Along With Vomiting Be Treated?
Hi doctor my son is having fever from yesterday evening . He eats some corn after two three hours he has got fever. He also vomited in today morning.But whole night he was suffering from fever about 100 degree. Still he is suffering from fever. I gave him Imol 5ml six hourly. As per age he is three plus. Today morning started giving him emeset 5ml thrice a day. But still fever is not under control.He is feeling weakness. Goes tolit two times. His stomach is not fully cleared. Doctor plz suggest what to do??
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. By your history and description, your son is suffering from typical food poisoning also called gastroenteritis. The first step is to rehydrate the baby with lots of oral rehydration solutions (ORS) usually available over the counter. The illness is self limiting in most cases over a few days. Rehydration is the key. Paracetamol for fever is good. But I the fever persists then he will need antibiotics like ciprofloxacin and tinidazole. In that case, you will have to consult a pediatrician for the prescription.
